In the midst of primary school dropout rate related to poverty issues and only 50% of primary school graduates will continue on to high school, Lameck Odero piloted an idea to help most at-risk students from Kisumu to graduate on time and escape the cycle of poverty. An advocate for education access and school choice, he paired students with caring individuals to fund their education at public schools and mentor them along the way. Seeing the results through the student successes, Lameck decided to incorporate Resurge Children East Africa in 2015. The organisation launched with 9 students and just three partner schools and now has more than 300 students at 14 schools across Kenya.

Our Mission

We improve primary school learning outcomes and provide high school scholarship to bright but needy students who cannot afford to continue their secondary education.  We truly believe supporting a child’s education is the best way to help break the cycle of poverty of disadvantaged. By giving them the support and resources they need to achieve their full potential, our impact will be a lasting effect on those we help today and for generations to come. As a non-profit organisation, we know that the gaps we fill are basics not covered elsewhere.

Our Value

Our Value: Mathew 22: 37-39: To Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’. At Resurge Children East Africa, our values guide the way we work and putting every needy child on the path to success through the fear of God.
